Camellia | This world needs more heroes and idols | Coming Flavor
Coming Flavor released the music video for their new song "Camellia(Kameria)" on YouTube on December 1st.

Until now, the MV for the debut song "Let's say it!(Senodeiouze!)" Has only been released on avex's official YouTube channel.

The cover song "Imasugu Kiss Me" was distributed from their own channel, but it was a cutout of practice and recording scenery, so I'm happy as a fan that a full-scale MV was made this time.

Regarding the direction of the coming flavor, I thought that I would dig up a minor song of SKE48 or give a choreography to the nostalgic Jpop, so I was surprised at this dark and avant-garde world view.

I think it's the impression that most of the people who have supported Coming Flavor have that they were surprised but it made sense to them.

First of all, please take a look at the MV.

I have the impression that the work is not so straightforward that we can simply feel the camellia that we envision.

Or it may be better to call the flower that we are familiar with as a Tsubaki in Japanese a camellia.

1. Impressions

The location is abandoned, the intro is as long as 50 seconds, and the initial action takes time to create the atmosphere.

Although it takes time for the intro, the song itself fits in 4 minutes because there is no rust.

Counting the length of the intro as a beat, there are 24 bars and 2 beats until the song starts.

The composition is not a simple comparison with that based song, but if you count it in the famous sukima switch "Boku Note" with a long intro, it is 52 seconds in seconds and 17 bars and 3 beats in time signature.

During the intro, they're dancing, so it's not just about waiting.

Rather, they are trying to draw viewers into the world of "Camellia" here.

It's as if the stage has begun, and it's like watching a play.

Dance is the main MV, but it's dramatic and I feel something story.

It is also reminiscent of bold productions such as heavy metal and drama without dialogue, which dominate the time in a dignified manner.

If you focus on making good use of your limited time, you don't suddenly go in the game of soccer or shogi, for example.

You spend some time watching the situation and solidifying your defense.

Then fill the moat and hit the centre of a castle that means goal or checkmate when it's time to hit.

If an amateur imitates this easily, it will simply be a loss of effort and will be driven in, but in the professional world it is a standard and it will show the difference in disparity depending on whether it can be done or not. (Of course, there are also tactics to make haste and surprise attacks in anticipation of that standard)

Therefore, this "Camellia" also has an expert-like composition and has a strong impression of artistic elements in addition to the entertainment elements that idols originally emphasize.

This song is the music you see with your eyes.

Therefore, it can be said that it is a song that further tests their expressiveness.

2. Criticism of dance and video production

Dance is one of the techniques to show the power of expression.

In the case of live performances, where everyone has movements, in the MV, their movements are effectively cut out, so here we also evaluate the video production.

I'll talk about songs in the next paragraph, but I'll mention a few here as needed.

I won't go into detail about the skills of the producer, but when I evaluate the members of Kamifure(Coming Flavor’s nickname), I can think of it as evaluating the skill and sense of the creator at the same time.

Intro

In the MV, short cuts are projected one by one, one after another.

As you can see from the live performance, in reality, seven people form a circle or line up in a row to form a shape that just represents a camellia flower.

As I will explain later, the word "Camellia" in the title does not appear in the lyrics.

It may be said that their dance becomes one work only when it is integrated with the song.

As the stance of the coming flavor emphasizes dance expression, it would not be possible to fully convey their charm without a visual element.

In that sense, the place where they lived the most was live.

However, as I wrote in the article that the visual element has returned to music with the breakthrough of YouTube in "Live Viewing | The audience closer to the artistry by technology", this time they have put the power of video on their side. Undoubtedly, it will support their success of those who value performance.

By the way, at the beginning of the intro, the leader MIYO (Miyo Nomura) first appears from the hazy darkness.

She has an adult-like beauty, a girl's cuteness, and an artist's coolness.

She is the title that chooses the expression according to the angle at which the viewer sees it.

MIYO dancing in the intro (Miyo Nomura)

It's just like an Italian sculpture has begun to move.

Thousands of artists would have wished to move on to their work.

They must have been hungry that the souls stay inside of their sculpture and painting.

MIYO changed their desire from fantasy to real.

It may be said that she led the way because she was the leader, but it doesn't feel strange to say that she is the leader because she is her and the first because she is her.

At the same time, we have witnessed the moment when Kamifure was brought to life.

And I think it is MIYO's role to harmonize this dark world view, a two-dimensional atmosphere if it is described, with us three-dimensional.

From there, the members change one after another, and HINANO (Hinano Aoumi) acts as a stubborn person.

This order is just a way of projecting the MV, but it may be considered as a hint that HINANO stands in an important position in the later song division.

This intro is also a part that conveys the seriousness of camera work, lighting, and editing skills.

1st verse

Unlike the combination of each cut, the style from 1st verse to chorus changes to one-cut to capture each person.

It is a scene where you can get a glimpse of their dance ability and efforts that cannot be compensated by editing.

The voice of YU-KI (Yuki Otani) who received the baton from MIYO, which attracts the attention of the audience, seems to be uttered innocently.

It persuades those who have not yet entered this worldview to step completely.

YU-KI (Yuki Otani) singing the 1st verse

Innocence can be rephrased as mindlessness and ingenuous.

At first, I tried to rate this as her acting ability.

However, in the case of YU-KI, rather than acting, she throws away unnecessary thoughts and all other thoughts, or does not doubt from the beginning, as a result, it is an expressive power that draws the audience into the world view of the work.

If YU-KI goes on the path of actress or play, I would definitely like to see it.

1st Bridge

Entering the Bridge, the angle changes with ENA (Ena Suzuki) and KIMIE (Kimie Akahori) at a good tempo.

The tune also feels up-tempo.

ENA singing 1st bridge (Ena Suzuki)

KIMIE singing 1st bridge (Kimie Akahori)

These two are a little funny.

The two have a look and singing voice that looks especially young among the coming flavors.

Therefore, being in such an abandoned house feels unnatural.

And this discomfort works interestingly.

"Girls, don't be in such a place and go home early."

It is an essence that makes you feel eerie in a good way.

For example, when you were wandering around a dungeon in a role-playing game, two pretty girls got entangled with high tension and suddenly entered a battle.

And when you disparage them as children to fight, they were so strong that you were wiped out.

It's usually a simple and honest duo called "EnaKimi", but if they sing lyrics like this spell, we can get a psychopathic feeling in combination with the voice quality.

It would be nice to enjoy the sense of mismatch both visually and audibly.

After that, AIRI (Airi Nakano), HINANO, MIZUKI (Mizuki Tanabe) who are reliable older sisters will come and liven up the chorus.

HINANO's one phrase, "Kuruizaki(Crazy Bloom)", is a short part that is less than a second, but even here alone, you will have the impression that her voice has a stretch.

1st chorus

In the first chorus, the singing becomes unison.

The location is the same abandoned house, but the light shines in and you can feel a little hope and courage.

The lyrics do not contain any difficult words like those used in the verse and the bridge, and release frustration from the gloomy atmosphere at once.

The members change positions throughout the song, and even though they support it, they change quickly.

Therefore, especially those who dance in the chorus hall feel like watching a volleyball game.

There is such teamwork, thrills, and excitement as if they were moving freely on the court, covering their teammates, tossing and hitting back.

Although the song parts and the dancing positions are assigned, the art of fencing is like a sword fight, the power that the viewer is watching the ad lib on the spot is alive.

Rust by Unison

Interlude

In the interlude, the effect is strongly applied to the members' songs, and there is a part that is made like a seam by joining finely cut vocalizations.

It is a cut-up (vocal chop) that was popular even in Vocaloid songs.

Previously, there was an interlude of "We are Kamifure !!!!!!!", which was a fun synthesis of the members' chats and shouts, but this time it is a level of processing where you cannot catch what they are saying.

Of course, there is no such thing as "Nyan Nyan".

The first half of the interlude shows an interesting idea of using members’ breath as a sound effect.

Moreover, it has changed from 4 beats to 3 beats over 8 bars from here.

What a strange time signature this song is.

It may have been the most surprising thing to hear this song.

Speaking of odd time signatures, you can listen to Kenshi Yonezu, Akai Koen, Chatmonchi's "Shangri-La", progressive metal such as Dream Theater, and game music such as Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.

The odd time signature itself is not a particularly difficult technique, but no one usually want to put it in.

In a word, it's a maniac, and it's quite elaborate.

I thought that the creators were focusing on camera work, lighting, dance, etc. from the first impression, but I felt that it is a work that they who really incorporate the skill and curiosity of the creator can also challenge.

Variable time signature from 4 beats to 3 beats

What is the meaning of the odd time signature incorporated here?

From here on, it becomes my self-righteous delusion.

There was a time when unstable rhythms were avoided.

Because music was authority and order.

It can be said that the audience gained legal pleasure both socially and religiously by getting drunk with the certain rhythm.

However, in modern times, Russian composer Stravinsky denied the pleasures originally received from music in "The Rite of Spring" (1913) and defeated the audience's self-esteem as a "customer".

What you see there is change, revolution, and challenge.

It's no flirting attitude that just says, "Audience, can you follow me with this?"

If the odd time signature is a kind of poison, in a sense it has instilled in us timely resistance to the ability to arrive no matter how much it transforms.

He insisted that music would be equal or better than what was used by people and was located below them.

Music removed the shackles of human servants and became the master instead.

What about "Camellia"?

Their Coming flavors aren't provoking our audience.

However, the claim that "it is different from us so far" can be seen there.

It is possible that it is part of the musical concept.

Furthermore, what kind of function does the use of odd time signatures in this song have as a story?

During the triple time signature, they get the impression that they are in the process of preparing to tune in to something.

It's like looking back on the past and looking back at theirself.

It's like waiting for someone, it's like looking for something.

Speaking of flowers, it seems that there are not enough steps to get there, whether it is a place where seeds fall or a place where it is in full bloom.

I received it as a three-beat, one missing from the four-beat that represents it.

Then, as soon as they find the right place, they develop their hidden power and transforms their appearance into a beautiful finished form.

As soon as they lock on the aimed target, they release all the power they have.

It is a speedy dance in the latter half of the interlude when it returns to 4 beats.

Become a speedy dance and show their true spirit

For example, a hero falls into a pinch in front of a strong enemy and kneels if he cannot win with his current strength.

However, at that time, the memories of the past come back.

He remembers the reason why he couldn't lose, the reason why He would fight again, the words of his family and friends, the people who supported him, and the day when he talked about his dreams.

Then he awakens and crushes the enemy with overwhelming power.

This is a common scene in manga.

So, from my point of view, the girls from the second verse of this song is awakened girls who have been powered up one step further.

Shallow attacks are no use to them anymore.

They are almost invincible.

invincible

2nd verse / 2nd bridge

The video production from here is one-cut to the chorus as well as 1st verse and bridge.

The second verse has an echoed piano and synthesizer added to the first verse, giving it a mysterious impression.

Here is the appearance of that duo again.

KIMIE and ENA.

These are wonderful that KIMIE's relaxed face suddenly turns into a straight face, her movement that suddenly falls after becoming a straight face, and the timing when she waits until the last second.

It makes me feel fear and anxiety even though I am an adult.

It's the feeling of making some decisive mistake and angering something that shouldn't be angry.

Speaking of KIMIE, she seems to be addicted to imitating zombies these days, but I thought she was quite good at these psychological horror strains.

KIMIE (Kimie Akahori) that appears mysteriously in the 2nd verse

KIMIE (Kimie Akahori) with a soft expression on the 2nd verse

Scary KIMIE (Kimie Akahori) who suddenly becomes a straight face with the 2nd verse

KIMIE (Kimie Akahori) and ENA (Aina Suzuki) who are replaced by the 2nd verse

ENA appeared in No. 2 verse (Aina Suzuki)

ENA (Aina Suzuki) who raises the corner of the mouth with the 2nd verse

ENA smiling at No. 2 verse (Aina Suzuki)

After that, contrary to KIMIE, it is also wonderful that ENA gradually smiles from a straight face and backs off, and that she awkwardly raises her corners in the meantime.

She is the existence that gradually unravels the mystery left by KIMIE.

In my view, ENA is a girl with a tension-tolerant trait.

She's hard to get nervous, and she doesn't make other people nervous either.

If YU-KI is a mood maker that changes (or conveys) the atmosphere of the place with her single voice, ENA can be said to be an ice breaker that eases the tension of her friends and those around her in live performances and relationships.

Next comes MIYO / YU-KI.

Here I interpret the meaning of using this duo in my own way.

It is a place where you can enjoy the contrast between the MIYO / YU-KI pair and the KIMIE / ENA pair, which is the outpost of the chorus.

In other words, the former two have a lustrous and mature voice, regardless of age.

On the other hand, the latter two have a light and young voice quality.

Adult-like MIYO and YU-KI (Miyo Nomura and Yuuki Otani) appearing in No. 2 B Melo

MIYO and YU-KI (Miyo Nomura and Yuuki Otani) singing in No. 2 B Melo

MIYO & YU-KI (Miyo Nomura and Yuuki Otani) appearing in front of the 2nd B melody

The first verse is from an adult to a child, and the second verse is from a child to an adult (beyond the bridge unison).

This makes the contrast of this song clearer and makes us not bored until HINANO's powerful vocals come.

Recall that MIYO used to say, "Kamifure has a good voice balance."

My evaluation of Coming Flavor is broadly influenced by her words overall.

I would like to say that her words are more of a basic appeal of the Coming Flavor song than a material for debating whether it is appropriate.

2nd chorus

HINANO hits the falling water mass with a fist and enters the 2nd chorus.

From here, her cheerful singing voice echoes.

The vocal cords are well open, and I feel refreshed.

This is the moment when the so-called Kachikaku(victory) is entered.

HINANO singing the second chorus enthusiastically

Next, AIRI sings the continuation of the chorus.

She can sing the most exciting treble of other songs without falsetto.

The impact when this goes well in live shows is enormous.

The same was true for "Hyakuman rittoru no namida(1 million liters of tears)."

Of course, it's because of the voice quality, and also because of the training.

Even so, she is nervous and thirsty at live performances.

The voice may die.

She also wants to protect her tired vocal cords.

Their last arrow is that it is entrusted to her.

Her singing voice must have captured our hearts more than anything else because she has the courage to choose to sing with all her might even at the climax of the big stage.

AIRI (Airi Nakano) passing by with No. 2 rust

That being said, the scene where AIRI approaching from behind her crosses while blocking the light with her palm.

“Is this a service from a director that helps to better understand her charm?” I think.

If you can meet AIRI in her private life, you can go to college, office, or street corner.

You also want to chase her with your eyes.

However, she will walk past briskly without paying attention.

It's normal, but when you turn your eyes to her, it's an unexpected development that she's looking at you from her side ...

It's an image that recreates the time when your heart shook.

Although the music video is fantastic, it is a scene that makes you feel strangely real.

There is the scene while the music is at its peak, MIZUKI quietly stares at us, then advances to the center to divide the members, and reflected in an expression that can be said to be anguish or a plea.

For a moment, this scene where she becomes the center is so dramatic that it can be said that "this world was once saved by the prayer of a maiden named MIZUKI ...".

" If you smile, I'm fine with that," sings MIZUKI.

She is like a heroine who realizes that she is destined to be sacrificed and moves forward gallantly.

But I want to tell the story that HINANO realized her determination and everyone kept her.

MIZUKI (Mizuki Tanabe) noticed by the second chorus

MIZUKI (Mizuki Tanabe) raising his hand with the second chorus

MIZUKI (Mizuki Tanabe) who puts her hand on her chest with 2nd chorus

HINANO (Hinano Aomi) of solo cut with 2nd chorus

HINANO reaching out with the 2nd chorus

MIZUKI (Mizuki Tanabe) pointing back at the 2nd chorus

Gather at 2nd chorus

For example, what is important in a movie is that when a scene is cut out, it becomes a work of art like a painting.

The coolness, cuteness, and sadness are conveyed from each scene of the "Camellia" music video.

Perhaps those series are the true nature of the story I mentioned in my impressions.

As a summary of the whole song, I think that percussion is the most component of the sound source, and then strings are the basis.

Based on these two, I get the impression that the piano and synthesizer are partially used.

There is a glimpse of the dark and very aggressive parts, but the electric guitar that is characteristic of rock and metal is not used.

Finally, MIYO opens the door that seems to be heavy alone and goes out to the outside world.

MIYO (Miyo Nomura) who opens the door at the ending

MIYO (Miyo Nomura) going out at the ending

Looking back at the ending MIYO (Miyo Nomura)

MIYO disappears at the ending (Miyo Nomura)

It is a scene reminiscent of "continuation".

It was a very dramatic music video, so I wondered if Kamifure's drama would start with this world view.

Even if that desire is a leap forward, it seems to suggest that Kamifure is about to begin and jump out into a wider world.

There is no doubt that it is a drama that happens in the real world.

However, MIYO's expression is sad when she looks back on the fact that she can finally go outside.

And move forward without saying anything.

Why didn't she laugh and why did she look back?

Is it because the outside world is harsh, or is it regretting memories?

It may be a sign of Kamifure's determination.

She looks back even though the lyrics say, "I don't look back."

She sang "I can't stop" but stopped.

I wonder why.

If you dare to explain this contradiction, MIYO's reflection in this scene is the last reflection, and the lyrics "do not look back" is a determination in the heart that is executed after the last reflection.

If so, there is no particular problem.

However, I don't think it is necessary to defend this with a twisted interpretation.

Because this contradiction does not seem to have a deep meaning.

Rather, it would be more natural to interpret it as a production that I absolutely wanted to include even if there was a contradiction between the lyrics and the scene.

I stopped and looked back at those of us who were cheering for or watching Kamifure, and while Kamifure is going on, please follow us as if you would follow us as before.

I take it as expressing the manifestation of emotions.

For me, "Camellia" was an exciting work that stirs my imagination.

Even so, I can assure you that my guess is almost inconsistent with the creator's intentions and what the members of Kamifure want to express.

The world of images is so vast.

The same is true for the songs and lyrics that we will consider next.

If this has a clear aim or hidden element about the song, you may be able to hear the story in the member's distribution or interview article from now on.

In that case, I decided to sneak out in the shell of homeostasis, where my delusions cannot be denied.

While listening to Kamifure's "Okebori" ...

3. Criticism about the song

The technique of singing should be evaluated individually, and it is not limited to this MV, so I will not elaborate on it here.

However, if I make a comprehensive and simple critique, I have the impression that each member values their own voice.

AIRI (Airi Nakano) who is good at singing

I think it's easy to hear because there is a solo part in each of the1st verse and the 2nd bridge.

Since it is a low-pitched part, the characteristics of the ground voice are particularly apparent.

Personally, I would like you to follow the route based on this local voice.

It's good to change the singing voice drastically, that is, to make it an animated voice to bring out the characteristics, or to imitate what you see in karaoke programs, but not everyone.

Also, Vocaloid covers, and Vocaloid-style singers are popular these days, but I don't think it is necessary to keep up with them.

Such a way of singing has an immediate effect that makes the song look good, and although it is one of the techniques, a question mark remains when it is said that it is the original individuality of the singer.

Rather, it's more like heavy makeup that hides its true appearance, and the aspect of homemade effects is undeniable.

The singer's main battlefield was a village festival, a palace hall, an opera-like big stage, a microphone-developed recording studio, and digital like DTM and EDM.

So, the trend of singing voice changes according to the times.

It is said that Bing Crosby established a crooner style featuring whispering in the era when microphones and speakers were developed. (1930s)

From that time on, the voices of individuals may have come to be respected.

Interestingly, when Billie Eilish performed at Music Station, he seemed to have received a series of criticisms such as "speak out of the belly."(I presume that this is mainly due to dissatisfaction and critical evaluation peculiar to Internet bulletin boards.)

She was originally a singer who was described as a "whispering voice."

That's why some people argued against the criticism.

l  Vocals that don't sing (especially in Japan) are criticized

l  Performance is not all about being good at singing

l  In Japan, where amateur karaoke programs are popular, it is easy to be beaten.

l  Billie Eilish is suspected of deliberately exaggerating her lack of motivation against Japanese singing supremacy.

The reason why Japan tends to be singing supremacy is that there are few Japanese people who can sing powerfully, so it is easy to have a longing for it, and there may be a national character that feels virtue in the way it works.

However, it seems that we can hear the voice that this is Japan.

Of course, she is also a singer who has an unusual character, so there are some parts that cannot be used as a reference.

YouTube is her main battlefield, her surrounding fans are the top priority, and she must be unique above all else.

She will not be accepted by the public for her to sell to her, but she will make the minority aware by her one-of-a-kind prominence.

And the unity of the minority overwhelms the defenseless masses.

The habit of the masses, which easily follows the trends of the world, is that they are quickly swallowed by a horde of crowded minorities.

However, when I think about her singing style, I think that this "whispering voice" might have been beaten and kicked out in Europe and the United States long ago.

So, please remember the above-mentioned odd time signature.

In the old days, the performers and the audience fought with time signatures.

And now they are fighting in a singing style.

Custom or individuality?

In other words, it's hard to tell at first glance, but it seems that the value is how much the other person can understand the characteristics of one's own voice like a fingerprint.

If it becomes a barrier, it can be a steppingstone.

What is good at singing?

It may be impressed by the bias, but whether it is the volume, the pitch, the voice quality, or the pronunciation.

Whether it's a visual, a character, a language, or a story, it depends on the recipient.

Since this is just a matter of individual impression, it cannot be persuaded by the reasoning described here.

There is only execution.

As long as they use dance as their weapon, they can't blame dance for neglecting songs.

Song is also one of the important elements.

While being aware of trends, how they can devise ways to convey their own characteristics may become their way of life.

However, of course, it's difficult to say "lie down on the sofa and sing" in order to bring out the individuality.

No, the last one is Billie Eilish, not HINANO.

Now, if I briefly evaluate Kamifure's singing voice,

MIYO's singing voice has the expressions of lyrics and is easy to understand.

Speaking of animatic, she is close to it and contains the recent trends in Japan.

Especially this time, it can be said that she is a suitable starting point to give a first impression.

As stated in "We are Kamifure !!!!!!!", HINANO's singing voice with a springy spring is the trump card when it comes to this.

The singing skill is easy to understand and stands out, just like an ace striker.

AIRI's singing voice that never throws away idols and cute girls even if Kamifure turns to the "here" line.

There will be a maiden who will not change even if she break out of her shell, or soaks in another world like "Camellia" for three years.

MIZUKI's singing voice, which is usually quiet and has a gap that changes to hiss as it gets higher, is a beautiful lunatic that awakens our sleeping sensibility.

KIMIE's mysterious voice makes us think that there has a deeper meaning in this song.

And we will stop, and urge repeat it.

Surprisingly, it is the young YU-KI's singing voice that has the sensuality of an adult woman.

It may be better to say that ENA is at home with an untamed voice, or that it has a warmth that makes you feel friendship.

She seems to have a sense of stability that makes no difference between her recordings and live songs.

And when these seven people sing Unison, it sounds like a beautiful harmony even though the scales are the same.

If someone out of the seven had the same voice quality, those two voices would become Kamifure's voice when they became unison.

In other words, the voices of two people of the same quality are naturally reflected greatly, and there is a risk that the voices of each other person will be drowned out.

The reason why many violins are placed in the orchestra is to increase the sound pressure of the violins.

If you want to make the cello or viola sound louder, increase them.

If you want to raise the volume, increase the number of people and adjust it instead of playing it strongly.

Therefore, it may be said that it is miraculous, but on the contrary, it is fortunate as a unit that the seven people do not have the same voice.

Because their voices are different, singing a solo part creates diversity like a concerto, and singing a unison creates harmony like a symphony.

It seems that enthusiastic fans are familiar with the area and have a very wide variety of evaluations.

However, it is around this time that I warn myself that I want to have a leeway to rejoice as evidence that superficial and honest opinions are spreading.

It reminds us that the charm of the coming flavor is the characteristics of the members, and the fun that is based on the live performance, practice time, and relationships.

What I'm curious about is whether Coming Flavor will continue to bring HINANO's powerful vocals to the fore as in this work, and will the other members keep their individuality in different directions. ,

Or maybe they are going to make a song that emphasizes each member of the Coming Flavor as if each of them acted as a center in the first solo live, and then who is next?

In that case, if each person is featured, I would like to keep in mind whether the protagonist of this "Camellia" is MIYO or HINANO.

Of course, I know that each member of Coming flavor has a leading role in each song.

Even in this work, it is a street where everyone takes over and acts as a center.

However, it is possible that there is still a person who is the core of the work.

Is it because she is the protagonist or the leader that MIYO appeared at the beginning and the end?

Is it because she is the protagonist, or is her singing ability bought, that HINANO has a special one-shot that hits the water and is in charge of her chorus?

Each member is given a unique color.

This song is "Camellia".

Camellia is Tsubaki in Japanese.

Speaking of camellia, it is red.

There are also pink and white, but the members are not.

If so, will the songs be associated with color in singles in the future?

In other words, will there be songs based on blue, purple, black, yellow, orange, and light blue?

If you go on this line, "Camellia" means MIYO.

Or the world seen from MIYO.

And it can be said that the main character or the main character this time is MIYO.

A close-up of the red camellia

4. Criticism about the lyrics

I would like to move on the evaluation of lyrics here.

The lyrics "Kimi ga Tame(for you)" is a bit old-fashioned and sad.

A little recollection is the kind of vocaloid songs such as "Senbonzakura" that prevailed in the world, and the feeling of sadness is similar to "Connect" and "magia" that became the theme song of "Puella Magi Madoka Magica".

Speaking of which, the latter two songs are of the type whose title is not used in the lyrics.

This technique is also a rare category.

As for the impression of songs which titles are not used in the lyrics, I feel that there are attempts to explain the meaning of the title using the entire song, or the remnants of the words of the title being the foothold for creating the song.

In other words, what is "connect" and what is "magia" is expressed using lyrics and music.

However, since the listener creates various interpretations, there is no room to define them, but rather a lot of emotions and thoughts are handed down, and finally the words of the title leave the author's hands like a living thing.

As you know, "Camellia" is also a type which title does not appear in the lyrics. (If it's in the interlude with that effect, it's a different story)

So, I wanted to discuss what "camellia" is.

First, I looked up the flower language of Camellia.

The flower language in Japan is "modest kindness" and "pride".

And the flower language is also attached to each color. (For details, please refer to the quoted URL)

In the West, there are passionate things like "admiration" and "perfection", and for red camellia "you shine like a flame in my chest".

Camellia flower language (red, white, pink)Birth flower and English | Flower language-Origin (hananokotoba.com)

However, when compared with the lyrics, there is not much strong connection.

The red camellia is the birth flower on January 27, which means "natural value".

There is an anecdote that Camellia, who passed to her Queen Maria Theresia by the monk Camel in the 18th century, cured her husband's depression, and it seems a little closer, but not definitive.

Camellia (Camellia camellia) flowerlanguage | Meaning of flowers and corresponding birthdays, birth flowers, yourpersonality | Timeless Edition (timeless-edition.com)

As for the lyrics, I don't think I was very particular about the original meaning.

However, I would like to think a little more without saying that it is lonely that it was attached to SEO measures in search results.

If there is a metaphor for Camellia in the lyrics, there are probably only two, "crazy bloom(Kuruizaki)" and "layered bond(Kasaneta Kizuna)".

By the way, even in the MV, the image that seems to be Camellia does not appear.

The following Camellia image is borrowed from a free image.

Camellia with flowers and buds

However, if you examine the ecology of Camellia, you can see that the story in the lyrics is somehow close to it.

In winter, as you can see from the camellia, flowers are clustered on one tree.

It is also important to be a "tree".

Most of the flowers that bloom on the tree bloom at the same time.

However, in the case of camellia, they do not all bloom at the same time as cherry blossoms, but they bloom individually at different times.

In other words, I think it is blooming big and beautiful, and there are many buds next to it, and some have already withered or dropped.

Expressing a canon (domino) camellia with a one-beat shift

In dance, there are places where everyone makes one flower, and there are places where each person makes their own flower with both hands (deflower).

In the latter case, dominoes (canons that shift one beat at a time) are used, and the flowers fall to the ground one after another.

Based on that,

"A future that will not be rewarded even if you grind yourself(Miwo konishitemo mukuwarenai Mirai)"

"Everyone is obsessed with themselves(Minamina Onoregoto ni shuchaku)"

"Way of life(Ikizama)"

"Even if you are alone, we will go on.(Kimigatame hitorikiridemo bokuraha susunndeyukunnda)"

"Now slowly separate this hand(Ima yukkurito konotewo kirihanashiteyuku)"

"I'm walking on a different world line now(Ima chigausekaisenwo arukidashiteyuku)"

It can be said that the lyrics such as are expressing the state of Camellia.

In addition, the appearance of flowers falling in Camellia is ephemeral, and it blooms pretty in the harsh winter cold, so it can be said that it is a good representation of the sturdiness of this song.

Camellia flowers that fell to the ground

I can’t say that this song has no danger to reminisce about farewell, but I want to believe that the true intention is a new beginning.

The plant Camellia seems to grow slowly and have a long lifespan, so I would like the Coming Flavor to resemble its characteristics.

Please tell us what "camellia" is for you.

5. About the future of Coming Flavor

When it comes to lifespan, two people have been withdrawn from the Coming Flavor so far.

In the new outfit, the lining of AIRI's skirt looked pink for a moment, and the lining of YU-KI's skirt looked bright yellow and the front looked greenish.

It's because of the amount of light and chance, and my little slight feelings.

However, I'm glad that it's happening to the members of the 3rd draft of SKE48.

Depending on the amount of light, YU-KI's costume may look green, which was the color of Marina Nishi.

Depending on the amount of light, AIRI's costume may look like Shiina Hirata's pink.

The two were meritorious persons and companions who were indispensable for the coming flavor to reach this point.

Listening to "Camellia" naturally reminds me of them.

Sometimes they gets talked about, so I'm sure they support Kamifure and the members in an invisible place.

When the two of them left the activity, it was previously stated in the members' broadcast that there were no new members of Coming Flavor.

I think this is probably a sale from the manager.

Since they are said to be like that from above, they may have a sense of responsibility and attachment.

From them, the tension and responsibility that they have to protect and nurture the coming flavor by themselves is transmitted.

The form of Kamifure is similar to that of Momoiro Clover Z.

It may be referred to as a small unit, or it may be strategically similar.

The period system is commonplace in 48 groups, and even small units are used like SUPER ☆ GiRLS, so there were opinions from inside and outside that they were worried about what would happen in the future.

The replenishment opinion has two main points: to enhance performance and to secure the number of people.

Of course, there is no doubt that both are positive opinions about the coming flavor.

Looking at their growth and changes in recent years, it is no wonder that supporters feel that they will take an effective step toward further success.

(From my personal point of view, if you are forced to discuss new members, it is when the fans and members naturally have a desire to retain the coming flavor after the members have been active and grown up. I think that the content will become familiar for the first time)

"Camelia" Cross Shoulders-Coming Flavor 1st Single

But there are still three reasons why I want to keep an eye on them.

One is the direct and realistic problem that it is difficult to find human resources.

Even if the idols can continue to be stable, the number is quite limited, and it is difficult for the staff to detect it by audition.

The second is that the function of the coming flavor has the meaning of increasing the playing field of the members in a small group unit with a small turn and enhancing the original idol activity.

Even if there is an ambassador-like aspect that spreads SKE48 ostensibly or for the purpose, if the above-mentioned substantial function is considered to be a profit, allowing new members will shake this strategy.

And third, this is a conceptual theme.

The current coming flavor of talent and the progress made so far is a coincidence.

Of course, they are the people who were selected with the expectation of management, and there is no doubt that their efforts and plans have paid off.

But it should have been the same for other groups and units.

It is possible to think that we are now supporting what remains of the many units that the staff always made and disappeared by selecting the best people.

In that case, I think it would be less risky to watch their individual growth.

There was another important thing here.

No, it's the most important thing.

It is that the priority to support our coming flavor is not to watch beautiful singing voice, perfect dance, and cutting-edge music video, but to each member.

If you want to hear a good song, an opera singer is a good choice.

If you want to see dance, it seems that the World of Dance Championship is being held in the United States.

If you want to see beautiful images, NHK BS Premium's "Experience! Great Nature" is recommended.

However, there are things that even outstanding opera singers cannot express.

There are things that even a professional dance trainer cannot tell.

Even the perfected nature can make us bored.

We didn't know about coming flavors.

Until I became a fan of some of them.

Until you look at them

We still don't know the coming flavor.

I think we are delighted that their songs and dances are better than before, and their costumes and music videos are refined according to the amount of support.

Everyone expresses camellia using canon dance (domino).

6. Candid thoughts on Coming Flavor

It was Ayakarnival 2021 that unveiled this "Camellia" for the first time.

It is a live performance that the audience watches live.

The Coming Flavor is united to express the camellia that colors the winter scenery in accordance with the darkening and heavy sound.

The composition as a set list that measures the gap with the image so far, their acting ability, and the time to release it are perfect.

However, there was only one concern.

It was not possible to perform live songs at this live.

Coming Flavor has never performed songs using recorded material at Ayakarnival from beginning to end.

They may have used the cover for chorus, but the appearance of doing their best with intense dance and live songs has caught the audience's heart.

There were praises for completing the performance with almost no breaks, even though they were sweaty and couldn't control their shortness of breath and were worried that they might collapse.

Due to the composition that emphasizes the stability of TV programs, it was unavoidable to use recorded sound sources, and at least it broke down the inconvenience of the idol neighborhood who tried to perform beautifully with just dancing.

It was also a scene that renewed the image of the past glory and music of a major idol whose name sold and only its name came to precede.

For example, that you can say that the return to Paris, which once gave Napoleon a chance to revive again with the rise and protection of the great powers and the opposition of the nations, while being praised as a hero who climbed from a low-ranking aristocrat to an emperor.

Or is it, Napoleon III?

However, in Ayakarnival 2021, the live song was hidden.

If this becomes normal, there is loneliness that they might go to a place other than the hot cheers like shaving that rough diamond.

However, I want to keep in mind what I heard that it is commented that the fans of Momoiro Clover Z, to which the organizer Ayaka Sasaki belongs, the fans of other idol units, and the fans of Coming Flavor all showed their understanding.

What was seen in the comments was speculation that "the preparation was not in time".

When I looked it up, most of the idol units had experienced the performance on the sound source, and on the contrary, it seemed that they were criticized when they performed it live.

And the voice of the fans did not completely deny the criticism but was a very wise reply that "we are enjoying their growth".

In that case, it is not easy to criticize by being good at singing or using recordings, and it is a common recognition in the idol fan community that it is better to have a range of insight that there may be some circumstances.

If Iam going to make a leap of speculation, I might think that they wanted a promotional video to sell to a music show.

When it comes to music programs, it will not be possible to decide whether it is a live song or a sound source by the members and the people involved in Kamifure.

You will also need a recorded version of the performance footage.

Although the Coming Flavor was promoted by avex and Yasushi Akimoto at the beginning, it has achieved a straightforward growth of self-sufficiency from costumes to live concerts and music videos.

The costumes borrowed from SKE48 changed to something more unique with each live performance.

Lives can now be performed independently.

In the battle with SUPER ☆ GiRLS, the 48 groups of dancers who dance with a large number of people are shown a small group dance like a tour guide of an attraction, which is useful for each person, and makes us feel the limit of expressiveness.

There was a part, but it has been complemented firmly from the mini album of Kamifure.

The MV has changed from editing past practice and recording scenes to renting a studio.

This is what MIYO's word "Kamifure is always on the edge" means.

Perhaps if the event is successful, then:

But if you fail, you're nearing the end.

One loss may have jeopardized its survival.

In terms of budget, I think that it is a separate frame from SKE48, and it seems that there is no savings, and it is a style to invest fully in the next event. (This area seems to be similar to the sense of money of the members of Kamifure ... I don't say who they are...)

So far, 48 groups have created a limited bubble economy, a business model that serves as a model for aggressive investment.

However, Kamifure may be taking a step away from that and taking a passive investment policy that works only for what they currently has.

And they will move forward with a passive investment type full-scale investment.

It may be said that it is a return to the origin that goes back to AKB48 in the indie era.

And if it can survive with this method, the mother SKE48 can also survive.

At the end of 2021, Coming Flavor managed to reach the 1st single with this music video while doing such a tightrope walking activity.

"Now" is always the most important thing for Kamifure.

I still can't predict.

It's unpredictable, but there's no doubt that Kamifure is an interesting time when fan support is visibly linked to growth.

7. This world needs heroes and idols

That was certainly after watching the first solo live.

I was impressed to watch each member singing and dancing hard, and I posted this message on Twitter.

We humans are fragile beings who cannot even understand words if we forget to be impressed.

I got a lot of feelings from watching your song and dance last night.

In order to bring back the colors of dreams and possibilities to this monotone world, everyone will transform (grow) strongly and vividly ^^

What is a hero?

In short, it is a transcendental being with the same values as oneself.

Therefore, the American hero who tied strength and justice with equality became the representative.

In Japan, the giant of light has countered the uncontrollable threats of human intelligence such as disasters.

When kidnappings and other violent crimes shook society, a brave man rushing on a motorcycle promised to protect the children.

While bullying and leaving out were highlighted, various warriors showed their hands holding hands and expanded the circle of friends.

People have longed for characters with hero images in shōnen manga, shojo manga, and anime.

They never betrayed us, even though they sometimes pushed us hard.

Heroes are persons who can assimilate us with who seems to be a tiny person, even if they transcend us far.

And even if the outside world is scary, we have once imagined that there is something to protect us, and in the real world we are certainly executing the courage we received from those heroes.

Intro MIZUKI (Mizuki Tanabe)

What about the modern trend of growing humanism and materialism, where "humans" have become stronger due to the development of science and medicine?

Heroes are more human and more familiar.

Sometimes they rely on humans, sometimes they and we help each other, and sometimes they entrust their power to humans.

Yes, heroes exist only in humanity.

And that may mean the time when the existence of an idol who can make humans and consolidate humans plays a part in the power of heroes.

Even before I saw this MV-like world view, I felt a fighting heroism for Kamifure for some reason.

It's been the case since Kamifure was performing SKE48's cute, energetic, and girly songs such as idols.

It may be somewhere that it is color-coded like the power rangers.

But there are two things that are clearer than that.

The first is the desperation that they are trying to open the hearts of the people.

AIRI sees desperation

AIRI sees desperation (Airi Nakano)

This does not mean that the hearts of the fans are closed.

However, Kamifure is desperately "fighting" to impress the audience.

Heroes have adversaries that threaten peace.

What is the enemy for Kamifure?

From the hero ≒ idol scheme mentioned earlier, it can be rephrased as what is the enemy of humanism and materialism.

I think it's just like the law of this world, as an idol, trying to draw people into indifference.

There are some things that are fun and some things that are sad.

We are not computers or machines.

People are hungry for love and warmth but cannot get it, or they pursue only exciting things and eventually lose their delicate sensibilities due to betrayal and setbacks.

Just as insects have broken antennae and cannot recognize their companions, people cannot communicate if they are not impressed.

It seems that words are important in communication, but it is not correct.

No matter how many people we are surrounded by, we cannot shake off the emptiness unless someone pays attention to us.

Profile of standing YU-KI (Yuki Otani)

And it's happening easier than we expected.

I have often seen sites where even professionals such as counselors and care workers are feeling the limits.

Rather, they are working against the danger of being pale.

However, when people are impressed, they can understand each other with just a few words.

Rather, you will be able to communicate without words.

After Kamifure sings, the audience communicates with praise, and after Kamifure dances, warmth and purpose of life return to the sinking heart and the lonely heart that becomes expressionless.

It also happens between Kamifure and fans, between Kamifure, and between fans.

People meet people and can see them again.

You will be able to respect your precious things and the important things of the other person in the same way.

YU-KI's words, "Because everyone is such a good person, do good to other than me," is nothing but a heroism who wishes for the well-being of the fans. (Remarks in SHOWROOM delivery: Summary)

Touching such kind justice,

Our hearts that we forgot,

our feelings that have become transparent,

this is loneliness, this is sadness, this is anger, this is ruthless, and I wish we could look at ourselves slowly again.

And once we know what it is, for the first time we can catch the impurities that nest in our hearts with a powerful punch like HINANO.

HINANO punching a lump of falling water (Hinano Aoumi)

It is their power to add color to invisible emotions and transform them into the language of song.

It may be their ability to transform the invisible of music into something that is tangible with dance and rich facial expressions.

By leaving the real world once and escaping to the spiritual world they show, we abandon the language that is not transmitted there and obtain the non-language that is transmitted.

Another heroism is that they are in loneliness.

A hero is lonely.

No matter how well-known and praised by the people, it is them who fight.

The give-and-take principle of being given is not the providence of this world.

It is the [unconscious cycle] of [conscious consensus building] that humanity has realized to be important in its long history.

KIMIE standing up in the intro (Kimie Akahori)

"While blowing a whistle, but don't dance"

If someone's gear goes wrong somewhere, the consensus building collapses in a blink of an eye.

And there are no laws or obligations to guarantee it.

They are idols on stage but normal or weak until they get there.

Until the live starts, they get the CD, they give me a message, they come to see me, their feelings will be in loneliness. (Maybe you trust your fans enough to pay for it)

ENA (Ena Suzuki) who grabs something in the interlude

Their joy and gratitude when the audience came to the concert is more than a sense of their harsh feelings.

They rejoice as we rejoice, and they hurt as we hurt.

So, when Kamifure needs help, it may be time for us to be their heroes.

Of course, most of us may be old-fashioned hidden heroes whose names, appearances, and careers do not immediately reveal their true identity and achievements.

In this world, there are heroes and idols who fight together in the loneliness of the masses.

Heroic MIYO (Miyo Nomura)

Camellia will become even more vibrant in the chilly winter landscape that is about to come.

For the time being, if I find a red flower on the street, it's a fleeting monument for me.

On the contrary, it should be a guide to spring.

Be dynamic, Kamifure!

With the throbbing of our hearts that started singing again.
