The first thing you should try when it freezes is to hold down the "Windows key" and press "X" to bring up the "Task Manager" and end any running applications.

However, if you press the task manager and it does not respond, please try the following method.

1，Add a new desktop

You can prepare multiple desktops so that you can easily switch between multiple projects on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

To explain using the Windows 11 screen, there is a "Task View" indicated by a red arrow in the "Task Bar" lined up at the bottom of the screen, so please press it.

Click New Desktop to get more desktops.

2，Using the task manager in the new desktop

Click on the new, unfrozen desktop and open Task Manager in it.

Right-click on the application that is causing the freeze, select "End Task" second from the top, and you will see that Task Manager is working.

3, Delete unnecessary desktops when you're done using them

After closing the application that is causing the freeze in Task Manager, display the desktop again in Task View and delete the desktop that you do not use.
