Good criticism and Bad criticism

City of NewYork released a video criticizing CoD.

The content is mainly a criticism of Warzone's slow matching and the CoD management for not offering countermeasures.

However, it is important to note here that City of NewYork says that the game itself is fun.

He also praises the creation of the map.

He waited 2 hours to participate in the qualifying rounds for the world tournament but was not matched, and his acquaintance waited 4 hours but was not matched.

This means that he is criticizing the game's flaws.

I have also experienced this issue of Warzone not matching in Japan.

When Warzone's ranked play was introduced, I could play at a decent pace at first, but after a while, I would no longer be matched for hours.

Many comments like this have been posted on Twitter.

The first thing that makes City of NewYork's criticism correct is that it is true.

Other reasons will be discussed later.

There are a few critical comments on City of NewYork's video, but the content is bad criticism that distorts the facts.

There are some people who ignore the fact that they were unable to complete the preliminaries of the tournament as planned due to lack of matching and say that "they" matched normally, but this is a criticism of City of NewYork's video.

Advocacy that distorts facts in this way does not benefit CoD.

In other words, it can be seen as evidence that the quality of the CoD game has deteriorated in certain areas to the point that it cannot be defended unless it is false.

City of NewYork isn't the only person criticizing CoD.

Haseshin expressed his critical attitude by declaring that he would be leaving Warzone for a while due to the lack of weapon adjustment for rapid-fire shotguns.

Towa Tokoyami, who was invited by Haseshin to collaborate on the broadcast, expressed the same thoughts.

In a stream with Otsuichi, Otoja criticized the bug that allows users to enter locked rooms in the DMZ without a key.

Gorou, a professional player, criticized the management's attitude of not regulating cheaters at official tournaments.

CoD commentator Jeanne releases critical videos from time to time.

However, they don't hate CoD.

Even in his collaboration streams with Apex and Virtual streamers, Haseshin mentions CoD and introduces himself as a CoD native.

Towa's criticism is that the environment where the most powerful rapid-fire shotgun is boring is that the game would have been fun without it.

Otoja also talks about the romance he feels in CoD.

Gorou also says that the game itself is fun and has no problems with the gameplay.

Gorou often says "I don't like it" because he is dissatisfied with the fact that the tournament does not eliminate cheaters, and also because he has wasted a huge amount of time by playing against cheaters in ranked play.

Isn't this a natural feeling as a player who is putting a precious part of his life on the line?

Commentator Jeanne also did not criticize the whole thing, but mentioned the lack of consideration in CoD development, such as the specification of a stressful map being automatically applied when a weapon that destroys a match appears.

What is correct criticism?

What we should learn from the streamers mentioned above, including City of NewYork, is that they are not criticizing CoD just because they hate it.

They played it because it was fun.

But there were some parts that were stressful, so they shared us.

In other words, the purpose was not to criticize, but rather the impressions they had after playing the game were critical.

Bad criticism is when someone hates the criticism itself and uses abusive language or insults.

There is the same irrationality as false advocacy.

Also, abusive language based on emotion is not acceptable.

You should refrain from abusive language towards the management that you see on the official CoD account on social media.

In this case as well, you should frankly state the "reasons" for your discomfort in the game.

In that sense, City of NewYork's use of abusive language in the video is not exemplary.

If you criticize on the official account, you may be directed to a form, but it still has the effect of criticizing the official account.

This is because a negative public campaign will affect future customer attraction, and the quality of the game may be debated in order to maintain appearance.

The Effects of Correct Criticism - Why We Criticize CoD

I believe that criticism, or in other words, honest opinions, is necessary.

Even if it is a statement that is detrimental to the subject.

The reason is to help talented people among CoD developers.

Even though CoD has received a lot of criticism, I still believe there are some talented players left.

In some cases, a company pursues too much profit and neglects quality.

Some people think that they should just get paid a decent salary and have fun at work.

I'm not saying that's necessarily wrong, but there's no need to let those people take the lead as game creators.

Among the people who adjust the strength of CoD weapons, the people who create maps, and the people who create characters, parks, and scenarios, there are people who have talent and sense and work hard on development, and there are people who make profits, and Some people may be doing makeshift work in pursuit of a quota.

In such a company environment, consumer opinions, or criticism, are necessary to support the people working hard on development and weaken the forces that pursue only profit, in order to make better games.
