It may not be limited to Call of Duty, but have you ever experienced a sudden slowdown while playing a game on your laptop?

In this article, I will introduce one solution especially when the fps drops.

The fps here refers to the frame rate, not the game genre.

If the operation slows down in an online game, there is a possibility that the line is delayed, but if the cause is a decrease in fps, please check whether the laptop's AC adapter is connected.

In the case of a laptop computer, even if the battery is 100%, even if it is full, the performance may be degraded by disconnecting the AC adapter.

How to see your fps

For Call of Duty, you can display your fps in real time from the options.

Open [Options] and select [Interface].

Scroll down until you see "System".

Please enable [Frame rate (FPS) counter] in it.

When enabled, the fps will be displayed small in the upper left corner of the screen throughout the play.

In my case, fps is around 40, which is quite low, but still barely playable.

If you unplug the AC adapter, fps will be 20 or less and it will be in red.

The average performance is lower than the specs of my PC, but please be aware that even a laptop with good performance may perform better with the AC adapter connected.
